The Sony FX5 represents a fundamental shift in what creators can accomplish with compact, handheld cinema gear. Its 16.6-megapixel full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor captures images with 15 stops of dynamic range, giving you control over highlights and shadows that matches the look and feel of professional cinema production. The three base ISOs (800, 4000, and 12800) give you flexibility to work across lighting conditions without sacrificing image quality.
Its approach to RAW recording stands out: internal 16-bit X-OCN Linear RAW capture eliminates external recorders and proprietary format dependencies. X-OCN LT provides efficient file sizes; X-OCN C1 and C2 deliver full-resolution data for maximum grading control. Recording at full resolution (4992 x 3328) up to 59.94 fps enables slow-motion for dramatic movement.
