Nikon 40mm f/2.8G AF-S DX Micro-Nikkor Lens

I bought this lens a couple of years ago as a special purchase, in part because of its price, and most critically, because of its close focus (.163 m, or 6.42"). Although this isn't a normal-perspective lens on a D7000 (the 28mm lens is), it is nicely suited for "normal" distance photography. Contrast and definition are crisp; this can be readily seen on an overcast day. Close-up, the lens is sharp. Limitations: if used hand-held, the shutter speed used must be fast, (at least 1/1000 sec or faster) or else motion blur will mar the shots. This is a lens best used with a tripod when used for close-up work inside of 18". I think the 85 mm or longer micro lens might be a better choice for outdoor shooting. This is more specialed lens, good for the studio and process work, such as copying, and controlled close-ups. I still recommend this lens, however.
