For those of you who keep a close eye on tech and camera news, it's been an exciting few weeks. A number of new camera bodies from various brands have been announced, one of them being the FujiFilm X-T30 Mirrorless Camera.  [caption id="attachment_6549" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Credit: FujiFilm[/caption] The X-T30 offers similar performance as seen with the FUJIFILM X-T3, all housed in a compact and light camera body. According to FujiFilm, both cameras share the following features:
  • Phase-detection AF system with almost 100% frame coverage
  • blackout-free high-speed continuous shooting of up to 30fps
  • monochrome adjustment function
  • Color Chrome effect
  • Sports Viewfinder mode
So how does the X-T30 differ? It's beginner-friendly. The camera body boasts a number of functions that cater to the novice or amateur photographer, such as the Advanced SR Auto function. As stated by FujiFilm, the X-T30 is the coming together of features developed over four generations of X Series. This includes enhanced image quality and processing speed using the combination of the latest X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and image processing engine, in an even more compact and lightweight body. We were beyond excited when we were invited to take the X-T30 for a test drive. Heading south, the San Diego area seemed like the perfect place to capture a variety of subjects. We even shot some video clips to test out the camera's 4k recording feature. First stop - South Casa Beach in La Jolla, CA Currently, Southern California is experiencing some cold and wet weather. At first, we were concerned about the outdoors being too gloomy and grey. However, the La Jolla coast did not disappoint. Yeah, there's a little patch of beach where sea lions gather. As you can imagine, it's a very popular spot to take pictures. We even spotted a couple of baby sea lions! [caption id="attachment_6511" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Shot with the FujiFilm X-T30 | Balboa Park, San Diego, CA[/caption] [caption id="attachment_6523" align="aligncenter" width="832"] Shot with the FujiFilm X-T30 | Balboa Park, San Diego, CA[/caption]   [caption id="attachment_6501" align="alignnone" width="832"] Shot with the FujiFilm X-T30 | Balboa Park, San Diego, CA[/caption] Balboa Park is one of the most picturesque destinations in Southern California. The park is actually an expansive complex that features a number of museums, restaurants, and walkable gardens. With the X-T30 in hand, we did some people watching...   [caption id="attachment_6518" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Shot with the FujiFilm X-T30 | Balboa Park, San Diego, CA[/caption] [caption id="attachment_6532" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Shot with the FujiFilm X-T30 | Balboa Park, San Diego, CA[/caption] [caption id="attachment_6534" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Shot with the FujiFilm X-T30 | Balboa Park, San Diego, CA[/caption] ...we ate... The X-T30 is the perfect travel camera for the photography enthusiast. We had no problems adjusting to the ever-changing environment. Also, when FujiFilm says "compact and light," they aren't kidding. This is one of the lightest mirrorless cameras out there. In short, shooting with the X-T30 was a breeze. It was even very simple to capture 4k video. Check out our X-T30 video tests from our day in San Diego. Happy shooting! PRE-ORDER and learn more about the FujiFilm X-T30.
