Larry Clark Show at UTA Artist Space
If you are in the Los Angeles area, head over to Boyle Heights and check out the newly launched UTA Artist Space. Exhibiting now is the work of KIDS director, Larry Clark. [caption id="attachment_3232" align="aligncenter" width="543"]screen-shot-2016-09-30-at-12-11-51-pm Untitled, 1963 (Larry Clark)[/caption] According to ArtNews: "The first show will be of work by Larry Clark, marking his first show in Los Angeles since his solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in 2000. It opens September 17, and will feature 50 works, and include screenings of Clark’s 1968 film Tulsa."\ Exhibit ends Oct 29th.
Cameraperson
This documentary is worth seeking out. As best stated by IndieWire: "Kirsten Johnson opens “Cameraperson” with a note describing the project as “my memoir,” but it’s safe to say there’s never been a memoir quite like this one. Cobbling together footage from her 25 years of experience as a documentary cinematographer, “Cameraperson” offers a freewheeling overview of the people and places Johnson has captured over the course of a diverse career. More than that, the two dozen projects showcased here alongside original footage confront the process of creation. This is a collage-like guide to a life of looking." Happy #PhotoFriday everyone!
