In addition to the characteristics of the ALPA 12 TC and ALPA 12 WA and with full integration in the modular ALPA 12 platform, the ALPA 12 SWA (Shift Wide Angle) offers a decisive new feature mainly for architecture, interior and landscape photographers: shift is integrated into the camera.
Shifting can be done in the most widely used direction, vertically upwards and continuously variable to max. 25 mm. If the ALPA 12 SWA is turned upside down then the same max. 25 mm are available downwards. The camera can be turned upside down by hand or on a tripod using a special adapter. Alternatively, with digital backs the camera can be rotated by 180 degree and the lens and the back can simply be exchanged.
Overall, there is the capability of 50 mm vertical shift. Typical for ALPA: sturdiness, precision, optimum weight and dimensions can all be achieved in combination. Incidentally, 'optimum' does not mean the same as 'minimum' - think of the danger of blurring pictures with cameras that are too light or too small to be held firmly enough.
