The HC-V10 High Definition Camcorder from Panasonic is a great way to break into HD recording; just charge the battery and pop in an SD/SDHC or SDXC memory card and you're ready to start shooting. The 31.6mm (equivalent in 35mm format) wide-angle lens is ideal for recording indoors or in tight spaces, especially when fitting both the subject and surrounding area into the frame. The wide-angle also produces beautiful images of wide landscapes and allows you to fit large groups of people into the frame.

- Enhanced Optical 70x Zoom - The compact, easy-to-carry camcorder features Enhanced Optical 70x Zoom function that uses the effective area of the sensor to further extend their zooming power at the wide-angle setting. While last year's model offered zooming with standard image quality, the V10 have a dynamic 70x zoom with HD image quality. This allows you to capture beautiful images of sweeping landscapes and pull in distant subjects for truly dynamic close-ups.
- POWER O.I.S. with Active Mode - The POWER O.I.S. corrects even slight hand-shake. Even high-power zoom shots, which are highly susceptible to hand-shake, now come out sharp and clear.
- HD Recording - Beautiful HD videos can be recorded in either MP4 or iFrame format. The V10 offers high definition recording and 70x dynamic zoom in a compact body. HD video can be recorded in the MP4 format, which offers broad compatibility and high compression that results in small files that are easy to share. The V10 also include the option to record in the iFrame format, which is designed to speed up video editing. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible video editing applications.
- 31.6mm Wide-Angle - The 31.6mm wide-angle setting fits more people and more of the background into the frame than conventional models. This is especially handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room. It fits your subjects in even when you shoot from up close, and makes it possible to pick up even small sounds with the mic.
- Simultaneous Still Picture Recording at 0.9 Megapixels - The V10 can capture 0.9-megapixel still images* while video shooting. Also, when playing back the videos you shot, you can cut out 0.9-megapixel still images of any scene you want.
- iA (Intelligent Auto) - This powerful function senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. iA does the bothersome settings for you and makes it easy to capture beautiful, well-focused images.
- 0.8-Sec Quick Start - Use Quick Start mode. You simply flip open the LCD and you're ready to shoot in just 0.8 second. When Eco mode is also used, the power turns off whenever the camcorder has not been operated for 5 minutes. This reduces wasted power consumption, and enables a longer battery life.
- MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 - MPEG-4 files are widely used because they combine video and sound in the same file. As a result, the files can be quickly and easily saved onto a PC and then uploaded onto blogs or social networking sites to share with friends and family.
- iFrame Mode - The V10 lets you record videos in the iFrame. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible video editing software. iFrame is based on standards, so it works with a number of applications – such as iMovie.
- World Time - Handy for travellers, this function makes it easy to set the camcorder time when you cross time zones and again when you return home. Simply select your destination from the displayed map, and the camcorder is automatically set for that time zone. The time for two different places can be set – such as home and destination – and you can switch between the times by simply pressing a button.
- Easy Connecting, Easy Viewing - Just connect your HD camcorder to an HDTV and get ready for an incredible high-definition video show. If your TV is HDMI compatible, a single HDMI mini cable is all you need. When using a video component cable, you need a separate audio cable.
