Web Pricing - Why are the prices on this web site different from those in your stores?
Our stores are staffed with a wide variety of product specialists and support staff, each of whom make an effort to be responsive and pleasant to deal with. We're also able to provide a customer with any item from our inventory to inspect and test. The cost of this customer service is an increased overhead for our in-store prices, to pay for the store space, the training of our employees, and other considerations not present online. We're happy to offer reduced prices online and hope that you will be satisfied with your purchase no matter where you decide to buy.
Slik's exclusive A.M.T. super titanium alloy legs make the PRO 700 DX tripod rock steady yet lighter than it looks. The A.M.T. alloy has a 40% greater strength-to-weight ratio than standard aluminum. Therefore, the legs are lighter weight yet stronger than the legs used in most of today's tripods made of standard metal.
Capable of handling the weight of large format (4x5) field cameras or heavy, long telephoto lenses, the PRO 700 DX offers professional photographers and advanced amateurs the strength and stability they need. Its size and use of A.M.T. alloy make it lighter weight and more portable than THE PROFESSIONAL series.
A tripod should be easy to use, so that that you spend more time concentrating on your photography than you do your equipment. The PRO 700 DX makes setting up easy with secure yet fast speed-release leg locks, gearless center column, and 3-position adjustable-angle leg locks for easy set-up on uneven ground or steps. The adjustable angle locks combined with the PRO 700 DX Short Column (optional accessory) allow the tripod to be lowered to just 15 inches for very low angle, or macro, photography in the field.
The included PRO 700 DX all-metal 3-way pan head has one of the fasted and easiest-to-use quick-release plates in the industry. Slik made a circular quick-release plate that can secure the camera to the tripod pointing in any direction. Once the Slik quick-release plate is attached, attaching your camera is more intuitive than with most other heads that have squared off or angled plates.
Value is more important then ever today. Compare the price and features of the PRO 700 DX to other manufacturer's professional camera supports, and you will see that dollar for dollar and feature for feature, this is one of the best values in a professional tripod available.
Extend or shorten a leg without taking your eyes off your subject. Lift lever to unlock, push lever to lock. Dynamically strong circular leg tubing sections have an indented groove that prevents the individual sections from turning during set-up or folding down, keeping the leg sections perfectly aligned. Allows simple and secure locking. Leg angle locks allow you to set the tripod to 3 different height positions. Each lock is independent, so you can set up quickly and easily on steps, or uneven terrain. Camera height and direction can be adjusted in one motion. Just loosen locking collar, and pull up. Specially designed rubber leg tips keep the tripod balanced, and stable, by always maintaining plane contacts with the ground. Rotate the built-in Quick Shoe onto a camera to attach. The head has 2 bubble levels for easy leveling, recessed against damage. The reversible head-attachment screw on the center elevation post lets you use a head with either large or small screw holes.
