The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-SZ7 Digital Camera offers an impressive 14.1 Megapixel MOS sensor for beautiful image quality. It boasts a powerful 10x optical zoom and a 25mm ultra-wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens in a compact body for easy, convenient portability. A 3.0" (7.6 cm) Intelligent LCD monitor automatically adjusts the backlight depending upon the environment's lighting. Record 1920 x 1080i HD video via a dedicated video record button, allowing you to instantly begin recording without selecting any extra settings. The full range of the 10x optical zoom is available in video recording mode. Light Speed AF delivers a super-fast focus response time of about 0.1 sec - making it simple to capture those spur-of-the-moment, must-have photos.

- 10x Optical Zoom in a Slim Body - The DMC-SZ7 features a powerful 10x optical zoom lens (35mm camera equivalent: 25-250mm). This gives you highly natural expressions from people and animals that you can't get close to. And its slim, compact body can easily go wherever you go – for both everyday snapshots and traveling. In addition, this single camera lets you record 10x optical zoom in video recording.
- 20x iA Zoom (Intelligent Zoom) - The iA Zoom (Intelligent Zoom) is an extensive zoom function using digital zoom, however, you can even draw the subject 2x closer than the original optical zoom with minimum deterioration of image quality thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology. This means the 10x optical can virtually extend to 20x equivalent.
- 25mm Ultra Wide-angle Lens - The 25mm ultra wide-angle lens* has about twice the shooting area as a standard 35mm lens. This enhances all kinds of shooting situations, like when you're photographing a group of people at an indoor party or shooting a large structure or sweeping landscape while traveling.
- LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR Lens System - The new high-quality LEICA DC lens system is even more versatile with 25mm ultra wide-angle to powerful 10x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-250mm). Comprising 9 elements in 7 groups including 4 aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces, adoption of ultra thin lens for its new structure optical system makes the unit's overall length short to fit in the slim body despite its versatile zoom range from ultra wide to telephoto.
- MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) - The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. Even slight hand-shake movement is accurately detected by a sampling frequency of 4,000 times per second, and compensated to produce sharp, clear images.
- 14.1-megapixel MOS Sensor (SZ7) - The DMC-SZ7 features the 14.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor that boasts high-speed signal output and high-sensitivity image recording for making many advanced features possible. It also allows shooting images up to ISO3200 in full resolution.
- Venus Engine - The DMC-SZ7's Venus Engine has quad-CPUs for processing large amount of full HD data at high-speed. At the same time, the multi-task image-processing engine, the Venus Engine realizes a super-fast response time.
- Intelligent Noise Reduction System - The excellent S/N ratio of MOS sensor and the Intelligent Noise Reduction system in the Venus Engine makes both photo and video shot at any sensitivity from low to high boast outstanding clearness.
- 1920 x 1080 Full HD Video in AVCHD Format / MP4 Format (SZ7) - The DMC-SZ7 is an advanced photographic tool for recording not only great photos but also beautiful full HD 1,920 x 1,080 videos in AVCHD (MPEG-4 / H.264) format / MP4 format. The AVCHD format excels in the compatibility with AV equipment like HDTVs or Blu-ray Disc players. The MP4 format has higher compatibility with computers.
- High-quality Sound (SZ7) - The videos come with the high-quality stereo sound of Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, to offer highly realistic sound to the motion images. The stereo microphone also comes with zoom noise reduction system.
- Wind Cut (SZ7) - The Wind Cut function is available to block out most of the noise from background wind. This gives you higher quality sound when taking images on breezy days.
- MP4 Format Recording - The MP4 format is suitable for editing videos on a computer or uploading those to websites. The DMC-SZ7 can record 1,920 x 1,080 full HD videos at 30p (NTSC).
- 10x Optical Zoom in Video Recording - The 10x optical zoom lets you zoom up close to subjects that you can't actually approach, even when shooting videos. This single camera will capture both photos and videos of highly natural expressions from people and animals, dynamic sports scenes and countless other situations, exactly as you see them.
- 3D Photo Mode (SZ7) - The 3D Photo Mode* produces a 3D image in the camera. The image-processing method used by LUMIX records beautiful images with less distortion or visible image links.
- Handheld Night Shot Mode (SZ7) - The Handheld Night Shot Mode generates a beautiful night scenery with illumination by multi-layering the images shot consecutively. Bright, glamorous night scenery can be recorded without using a tripod.
- AF Tracking - Once you focus on your subject, the AF Tracking automatically tracks it until you press the shutter. When you're taking images of an active subject, like children or pets, this function eliminates the need to press the shutter button halfway down repeatedly to readjust the focus.
- High-speed Consecutive Shooting (SZ7) - The newly developed MOS sensor helps to realize the high-speed burst shooting. You can take a series of shots, then choose the ones you like the best and delete the rest.
- 10 fps with 14.1-megapixel Full Resolution - The DMC-SZ7 can fire off up to approx. 10 fps in 14.1-megapixel full resolution. Great for capturing fast subject motion, such as sports scenes or animals.
- 5 fps / 2 fps with AF Tracking - You can snap off consecutive shots at approx. 5 fps or 2 fps with AF Tracking*3. That keeps the focus on quickly moving animals or children for capturing decisive moments with crisp clarity.
- Intelligent Burst Mode - The Intelligent Burst Shooting is available on the DMC-SZ7. It automatically sets the frame rate of burst shooting according to the subject's movement – whether it moves fast or slow – utilizing the mechanism of Intelligent ISO Control
