In store pricing may vary. Why?
Our stores are staffed with a wide variety of product specialists and support staff, each of whom make an effort to be responsive and pleasant to deal with. We're also able to provide a customer with any item from our inventory to inspect and test. The cost of this customer service is an increased overhead for our in-store prices, to pay for the store space, the training of our employees, and other considerations not present online. We're happy to offer reduced prices online and hope that you will be satisfied with your purchase no matter where you decide to buy.

Looking for the digital equivalent of an old-school rangefinder camera? Try the Fujifilm FinePix X100 Digital Camera. It has a fixed focal length 35mm (equivalent in 35mm format) lens with a very bright f/2.0 aperture (a classic lens choice for rangefinders) and a 9-blade diaphragm for beautiful blur in out-of-focus areas (bokeh)--plus a very large (approximately 4-5 times the size of a typical compact camera sensor) APS-C CMOS sensor with 12.3MP of resolution.
The durable magnesium alloy body is clearly based on time-honored rangefinder designs, with the welcome addition of a small grip for better stability in holding the camera. A switchable hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder and a high resolution 2.8" LCD monitor with 460K-dot resolution make capturing images with the X100 a real joy.
Unlike most old-school rangefinders, though, the X100 will also give you 720p HD video with stereo sound. Other non-traditional features are sensitivity from 100 to 12800 ISO, RAW capture and processing (in-camera) for the highest quality images possible, and high-speed contrast autofocus.
You can use the Film Simulation mode to give your photos the distinctive look of Velvia, Provia or Astia film, or Monochrome (with separate adjustment of shadow and highlight tones for superb control over the tonality). Macro mode will focus as close as 4" from the lens, and a built-in 3-f/stop neutral density (ND) filter can be activated with a simple on/off switch.
The X100 is all traditional rangefinder design on the outside, all 21st-century technology on the inside.

| Paul R. from ROCKVILLE, MD: |
| Been using a DSLR for 8 years, but wanted something smaller because the DSLR was too big for me to bother taking with me. This camera is tremendously portable, easily fitting in a coat or cargo pants pocket. This camera also takes fantastic low-light photographs with very little noise. I took a bunch of photos at ISO6400 and you have to zoom in quite a bit to see the noise.
The camera is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. I got a number of compliments from random people on the street. The nice film camera decor is also useful because most people assume it's a film camera, making it a much less palatable target for thieves.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Great camera, Great photos, and I actually take it with me.
A few minor complaints:
the ev-knob is easy to bump. I took the camera on a hike an inadvertently took a number of photos at -2 EV because the knob was bumped to that position
a few useful settings are buried deep in the menus system (e.g. neutral density filter)
the 1/4000 shutter speed doesn't work with a fully open aperture
Note on open box:
No signs of wear or tear on the camera itself. The only minor defect was that the box was scratched. |
