The advanced APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor features embedded phase detection pixels and an optimized AD converter for faster signal readout and accelerated operations, while the new EXR Processor II more than doubles processing performance compared with the previous generation processor. From the world's fastest AF of 0.08 sec. to a near-instant start up, the X100S's response times are an absolute delight.
Depending on the subject and scene, you have the power to instantly switch between two viewfinder views: optical or electronic. The visionary Hybrid Viewfinder that reinvented the essential pleasure of looking through the eyepiece and capturing each moment, has evolved with new levels of enhanced performance.
The superb performance of the bright lens is cleverly integrated into the slim compact body, ensuring it is perfectly pocketable. The versatile focal length of 35mm (35mm format equivalent) delivers an angle of view ideal for a diverse range of subjects, scenes and whatever captures the photographer's eye.
"Digital Split Image", the manual focus system to exploit the power of phase detection pixels and "Focus Peak Highlight" for pinpoint manual focusing.

| This camera won't be for everyone. This is not a beginners camera. However, if you dream of fstops and shutter speeds, this may be the camera for you. If you are looking for a fast, responsive camera with a fixed 35mm lens to travel or take documentary images, you will love the Fuji x100s. Fuji hit it out of the park with this camera version. It is discrete and makes creating a joy. |

| as expected.... "Way" better than the X100.... the S version fixs most all of what we had issue with the original..... that said... its an "engaging" camera to use.... not for the "point and shoot" crowd.... but if your a pro looking for a walk around... it is bar none the holy grail.... |

| I've had to return the camera and wait for a replacement. I had several of the button respond only 60% of the time. The "back," "ok," and "Q" buttons were the problem. No fault of Samy's, I hope they continue to handle the exchange well. I also hope Fuji is careful with quality control.
Those issues aside, the camera is beautiful and takes absolutely wonderful pictures. I love the form factor and the fixed lens. The focus speed with firmware 1.01 is not quite as fast as I expected. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars if it worked. I'm sure the next one will be great. |
