The Tamrac Aero 80 Photo/Laptop Backpack is a versatile bag, fully functional as a camera bag, comfortable daypack and computer backpack all in one.  The Aero 80 main compartment is completely foam-padded to protect a DSLR camera with a grip and lens attached, 2-3 additional lenses, and camera accessories.  A separate, completely foam-padded compartment in the back provides quick access to a laptop up to 17" in size, without disturbing your photo gear.  The large top compartment has internal mesh pockets to hold your lunch, a light jacket, or other personal items needed on a photo shoot.  Extra mesh pockets on the sides and front of the pack provide easy, fast access to accessories and water bottles.

I bought this for my Nikon D5200, and a few extras and my laptop. I am heading to Australia later this year and needed a case for both my laptop and camera as a carry on. I had a chance to go across the country this weekend and gave it a try. First a few observations: Rugger construction, flap over zipper and padded compartments really make this a nice camera protector. This is NOT a quick access bag. The zipper and protection flap is not conducive to a “fast draw”. I did not buy the bag for that reason; other bags accommodate this need if you like to keep your camera in the bag as opposed to at the ready as I do. With my laptop the weight is pretty heavy but as I don’t make day trips with my laptop this is not a real issue for walking around. However in the airport the “small-ish” shoulder straps made my shoulder tired after a stopover (I wear it sling style) and an hour walking around the airport. Not sure this will be such a problem without the laptop. Just enough room for the essentials in the camera compartment - if you are a real pro and take more than 1-2 lenses and a flash unit and some extras; you may need something larger. My 17" laptop is a very tight fit but I really only store it for carry on, as I can't trust it to checked luggage. The other compartment holds my hat, a few snacks and my reading glasses, mp3 player, passport / ticket holder and water. Fits under my seat but as it was packed it was a bit “thick” and was snug. Fits in the overhead with no problem. Executive recap: Nice bag that doesn’t really give away that I had a camera. A little uncomfortable to wear fully loaded. Hold just enough for a light/day excursion. Otherwise some pretty high marks all around. Nice construction, rugged bag as far as my limited use (so far) is concerned.
