Prime 22 Camera Stabilizer Support System

The Camtrol Prime 22 is a hand-held camera rig that allows you to capture ground level and overhead shots with large DV / DSLR cameras having free angle LCD displays and with combined camera/lenses weighing up to 7 lb (3.17 kg). It consists of an ergonomic grip, an adjustable stabilizing platform and a 5.25" (13.3 cm) vertical stabilizing bar.

While the centering channels allows you to find and adjust the camera's center of gravity for stable shooting, the Channeled Mounting Plate (CMP) enables secure attachment of cameras to the Camtrol Prime 22 and provides anti-slip / anti-vibration protection. In addition, the CMP has retractable legs that protect the mounted camera from impacts and scratches.

The CMP is attached to the camera with the help of a 1/4" mounting thumb screw. The 1/4" thread at the bottom of the thumb screw is compatible with quick release plates, monopods, or tripods, and allows the operator to easily switch between free shooting and static shots.

Quad pod retractable landing legs (QPRL) of the Camtrol Prime 22 allow you to customize the camera setup for different camera applications. Using the legs, you can configure the Camtrol Prime 22 to be used as a safe and stable editing and dubbing platform as well as a self imaging video trainer

Adjustable ball joints with locking mechanism and vertical stabilizer bar allows you to customize the Camtrol 22 for desired shooting conditions. By manually changing the configuration, you can capture ground level shots, overhead shots, and around-objects shots without even bending.

As you can operate the Camtrol Prime 22 rig with a single hand, you can conveniently operate the camera via a remote controller with the other hand. Thanks to a multi-faceted mechanism, the Camtrol Prime 22 also supports iPad and 2-camera operation.

You can attach the Camtroller and V-slope bracket to the action control grip via the Receiver Post for Remote and Accessories (RP/RA). Running the wires through the hollow grip, you can plug the wires into a LANC port or a digital L line. The RP/RA can also be used with an accessory shoe adapter to connect light panels and microphones.

A secure grip allows you to safely hold the camera and capture steady floating and dramatic moving shots. It works for both right and left handed operators. The Camtrol Prime 22 has a sturdy aluminum construction with an anodized finish. Hurricane 3D Camera Rig

The Genus Hurricane 3D Rig was designed from the outset to be a cost effective, entry level 3D Mirror rig. Mirror Rigs are the most versatile type of stereoscopic 3D camera rigs currently available. They can be used in an extremely broad range of 3D applications. However traditionally they have been very expensive devices only made in small volumes or to special order.

The Hurricane Rig, through clever design and large scale production will make high quality 3D accessible to video enthusiasts, owner operators and others that would have previously found the cost of a Mirror Rig prohibitive (a typical professional 3D mirror rig will cost in excess of $40,000USD). In order to keep costs down the rig does not feature the electronic controls often found on high end 3D rigs. Instead the rig has simple, easy to use manual control of camera alignment and camera adjustment. The use of manual controls makes the rig particularly well suited to educational users, training establishments and experimenters as they are simple to operate and easy to understand.

The Hurricane Rig adjusts to suit a broad range of cameras, from small consumer style camcorders through to video equipped DSLR's up to entry level professional video camcorders such as Sony's XDCAM EX product range. Typical camera pairs would be a pair of Canon XF105's, Canon 5D MKII's or Sony XDCAM EX3's. The maximum payload is 12 lbs. per camera.

Another advantage of the rigs simple design is that this helps keep the overall weight of the rig to a minimum. At just over 13 lbs for the rig plus between 6 - 13 lbs (typically) for the cameras, it can easily be used on low cost pro tripods. Most of the currently available professional 3D rigs weigh in excess of 10kg and when combined with broadcast cameras the total weight requires the use of expensive, high payload professional tripods that in many cases would cost more than the target price of the Hurricane Rig itself.

The RPS Studio System Bracket is a rugged and heavy duty bracket that can be used in many different configurations depending on the needs of the photographer in this age of DSLR cameras that do both still and video. The basic bracket comes with a 10” long open channel arm that accepts standard accessory foot adapters. Included are a 1/4-20 locking male post and a locking shoe. These may be placed anywhere along the arm. The ergonomic anti-slip grip is heavy duty and the camera plate features a 1/4-20 female thread as well as the standard 1/4-20 post and allows the camera to be placed along a 4.25” length of the plate allowing for an articulating LCD to be open to the left.

The Zacuto DSLR Z-Cage allows you to have a small, stable, and portable mounting solution for your DSLR and all of the accessories used with it. The Z-Cage allows you to gain a better form factor for holding the camera in your hands, thus giving you more stability when shooting and lots of options and space for all of your additional accessories such as an HD monitor, audio recorder and so forth. The DSLR baseplate is fully adjustable and expandable. You can adjust the height of the plate for compatibility with all DSLR cameras with and without battery grips simply by using the Allen screws on the front of the baseplate. The DSLR baseplate is also the platform for building your kit into a shoulder mounted rig. The plate also has multiple 1/2" 13 threads on the sides so you can expand the cage into a shoulder mounted rig if you ever choose to change or create your own system.

The Scorpion rig is the ultimate solution to DSLR shoulder mounted shooting with an EVF. There is a saying that goes "if it ain't broke don't fix it" well at JAG35 we believe that the broken english in this old proverb needed fixing, our new motto is "if its working how can we make it better?" and thats exactly the mentality we put into our new DSLR V2 design. Although at first glance it may seem like not much has changed, certainly the attention given to the minor details will give DSLR stand V2 a major boost in effectiveness to get tasks done be it for business or leisure. Similar to the original DSLR stand the DSLR stand V2 comes with the same layout however with many improvements, such as a more precise and smooth professional milled aluminum finish. All edges on the DSLR Stand V2 have been chamfered ( knobs included) allowing industry standard 15mm rods to be inserted into the stand effortlessly and for the knobs to tighten with ease. Accessories can be attached at the bottom into 1/4-20 holes drilled by machine to ensure proper threading.

The DSLR V2 is compatible with the canon 7D, 60D, T2I, and the 5DMK2. Sony and Nikon cameras will also work, as long as they have the 1/4-20 thread, although the secondary anti twist locking pin will not match those cameras. Another possible Issue using non canon DSLRs would be the distance of center of lens to center of rods might not be the "Light Weight" standard of 85mm. Z-Bands are an option for the Zacuto Z-Finder. The Z-Bands are elastic rubber bands to help hold the Z-finder in place, it is not a way to hold the z-finder on the camera. The Z-Bands are just a security measure to hold the z-finder in place in case of accidental bumping just like the lanyard. The mounting frame and the Z-Bands must be used together. The Z-bands include 4 red aluminum balls and two elastic bands.

Note: The Z-Bands will not work with the Canon 7D due to the different shape and curvature of the camera. They may work if you have a quick release adapter underneath the camera, which will allow the bands to wrap around. Please call us if you have any questions about this.

Consisting of an EVF Flip model and an optical viewfinder, the EVF Pro allows you to operate a DSLR or any other camera with an HDMI port, by offering an image as seen by the camera itself. Designed to be attached ‘in-line’ to your rod system, it aids in stable and efficient shooting, and ensures correct form factor for the video. Featuring 180° flip-up mechanism, the optical viewfinder can turn over to one side, thereby allowing you to view the 3.2” monitor from a distance. Using the Zebra stripes feature, you can adjust the IRE level of displayed image. The Focus Assist sharpens the edges of the objects in focus. With the ‘Blue only’ option, you can view the blue channel and calibrate the monitor using SMPTE color bars. The anamorphic setting ’un-squeezes' the anamorphic image produced by the anamorphic lens for viewing in the EVF. It includes aspect ratio frame lines such as 1.33:1 (4×3), 1.66:1 (15×9), 1.78:1 (16×9), 1.85:1 (35mm theatrical), 2.35:1 (Cinemascope). You can refer to the ‘action safe markers’ to avoid cropping of critical parts of image. A second HDMI port means you can also loop the image to another monitor.

The battery level indicator with selectable on/off display icon appears automatically when the battery power reaches 10% remaining. You can update your EVF firmware via a USB port. 3 assignable function buttons allow you to program up to 3 functions. Using Live Menu Preview, you can view changes during menu changes.
